Vintage Sunburst, just in on trade. This is a step or two above the standard J-200 with a thermally aged spruce top. This stiffens the wood for a quicker better response to your input. Made with hide glue and has a thin nitrocelluose VOS finish.
With this thinner finish and no “dipping in rubber” (our words, we paraphrase) you’ll see finish imperfections, just like your old 1957 J-200 which are now impossible to find. Thank you Bruce Springsteen. Has a 25.5” scale, 1.72” nut width, bone nut and saddle.
The tone is big super jumbo big. The hand scalloped braces really give this a bold sound. Whoomph!
Looks good with a nice 50’s Sunburst finish with nice grain in the spruce, very nice flame maple back and sides. These were called the king of the flattops with all of their bling. The thin lacquer has some sinking just like every Gibson VOS J-200 we see. It’s a J-200, nuff said. Comes with the original hard case and all case candy.
