A Mark Sampson-era amp. Willie’s American Guitars was the largest dealer of Matchless amps in the USA during the period Mark Sampson owned the company. Both Mark and sales manager Fred Coyner were close friends of our store. We had one of the first C-30 1×12” combos, the first reverb unit, Willie still has a Lightning prototype. These amps are magic, the standard that all other boutique amps will be judged by in the future for bulletproof construction and incredible tone. 2×10” Celestions, active treble and bass, and of course reverb. It’s exciting to see and hear one again.
