Walnut, very rare with a factory original stop tailpiece. Yes, it is not converted from trapeze. It has no holes filled by the strap button. This must have been custom ordered. In a beautiful Walnut finish highlighted by binding that has yellowed with age. The whole guitar glows. Has a three piece mahogany neck and Made in USA stamp on the back of the headstock as do all 70’s Gibsons. The frets are original with almost no wear. The nut width is 1 9/16”. It’s also very light at just under 7.5 pounds.
This beautiful guitar has the original patent sticker pickups and the original nut and lacquer and hardware. The pots are changed but the originals are in the case. The Custom truss rod cover might be original, it’s hard to say. Also has an original hard case with royal purple lining. We dare you to find another early 70’s 335 with a factory stoptail.
