I know what you’re thinking. What? It’s a Vibro Champ but it’s blonde…and a piggyback. Modified by some enterprising but skilled hobbyist back in the day but done well enough to look factory to the untrained eye, and there’s nothing keeping you from telling your admiring friends that’s it’s a export-market prototype from the 1967 NAMM show (other than ethics). So, the chassis is all-stock electronically but fitted into a little tiny proportionally-correct cabinet with blonde tolex and wheat grille cloth and authentic Fender hardware included the sphinx glides, raised logo, and the thumb screw-secured clip bars to secure the head to the cabinet. Oh yes, the cabinet. An open-back 2×10”, also in blonde with wheat grille, raised logo, and countersunk bushings for the thumb screws. The currently-installed speakers are a great-sounding pair of 15-watt alnico Webers. In good working order, sounds terrific, and definitely a conversation piece.
