1966 Fender Stratocaster
$19,995.00In stock
Sunburst, with original electronics, three way switch, pots all with factory solder. You can see from the photo there are two black bobbins and one grey bobbin pickup. All factory original as this was a transition from the black to grey bobbins. They are fantastically matched for that woody Strat and delish out of phase tones. Matched pickups are sweeter out of phase. The bridge reads 5.82K, middle is 5.76K and the neck is 5.71K and were never rewound. The body is a nice light 7.9 pounds alder and the fretboard is Brazilian Rosewood. Also has the original nickel Kluson tuners. The headstock has the original Gold logo and a tiny bee sticker. We love bees so we are leaving it on. The frets, hardware and plastic are all original. It even has the original hard case, strap buttons, trem arm and bridge cover. It’s a fantastic example with a few dings and a few scratches but not much finish checking in the lacquer finish. The neck has slightly yellowed and has just a hint of friendly playing wear. The neck date is Oct. 66 just before the era when Fender considered discontinuing the Strat. Thank You Jimi Hendrix who increased sales ten fold. A tidy little investment piece.
