Amp & Guitar Repair

We can do just about anything from basic set set ups to complete rebuilds. Every day we do refrets, pickup installs, headstock repairs, crack repairs, neck resets and finish work. We have a full shop that can handle any task.

Our repair shop is headed by Steve Morgan. We are proud to have Steve on board. He has been a faculty member at the University of St. Thomas and has worked for many major manufacturers including Hamer and the Washburn USA factory. He has built guitars from everyone from John Fogerty to Nuno Bettencourt. His list of clients over the years include Cheap Trick, Judas Priest, Bela Fleck, Graham Nash and many others.

We also have the brilliant Dave Blackshear, the very second graduate of the Red Wing School of Instrument Repair, has worked with Johann Brentrup, and has decades of experience, including a long stint at Pete’s Guitars. Dave specializes in vintage gear and custom jobs, and the quality of his work is truly exceptional.

Rounding out our repair staff is our resonator expert, Kari Larson. She has been trained by National Reso-phonic, the premier maker of handcrafted American resonator guitars. Trust her, we do.

Setups, electronics, all types of fret work, including full refrets, headstock and heel breaks, cracks, bracing and bridge work, neck resets, installing a Floyd Rose on your mint pre-CBS Strat (just kidding, we do have consciences), acoustic, electric, bass, resonators, mandolins, ukuleles, used, vintage, and modern, we’ve got you covered. Most work is done in-store but larger jobs and finish work is done off the premises.

Amplifier repair is handled by Casey Gooby, and is typically turned around in one week. Pick up and drop off happens each Friday, and we can handle most any type of guitar related electronics, amps, pedals, etc. Always feel free to call Casey directly with amp repair questions: 612.419.5340.

We can do emergency repairs for those of you on the road but give us much advance notice as you can. Otherwise we are always here to help. Let us know if you have any questions.
