1950 Fender “Deluxe”

5A3 circuit, 12” Jensen dated the 33rd week of 1950. So, the grille is original but as you can see, the amp has been…cosmetically customized. Painted a shade of dark pink with some decorative flourishes around the edge of the TV-front cabinet. It actually has some folk art charm. Electronically, it’s pretty straight – freshly serviced (some original caps replaced but are included), original transformers, runs stably and sounds fantastic, crisp and clean at lower volumes, then agreeably woolly when driven. 12 watts, 2x6V6, 6SC7 and 6SN7 octal preamp tubes, three inputs (two instrument, one microphone) and straightforward controls, master tone with integral power switch, separate volumes for “instrument” and “mic”. Hard to beat for small clubs or the recording studio. Handwired, made in Fullerton, California, USA.
