1929 Gibson F-2 Round Hole Mandolin

$3,400.00

Sunburst, round hole, these are fantastic F-style mandolins. The post-Lloyd Loar era ones in particular. They quit making these in the mid 1930’s.

This one has a repaired headstock crack. It is a well-done repair and stable. Otherwise has a two-point scroll top, new tuners and is freshly set up. Has a maple back and mahogany sides (yes mahogany) along with “The Gibson” script logo. Single bound top and bound ebony fingerboard. Has no cracks on the body but some pick wear on the top.

Tonewise, it’s an excellent example and the round hold is a bit more open and sustaining than F holes. Comes with the original hard case.
