ALL1976 Gibson ES-355

Dark walnut finish - almost black. A great Kalamazoo-era ES-355 (you Rush fans may note this is the same year as Alex Lifeson's famous white ES-355). This guitar looks black even up close. This 355's original pickups and 3 of its pots are in the case but converted to 4-conductor for a coil tap switch (thus the extra hole). The Varitone is missing and instead has a chickenhead knob on a pot that does...nothing (you read that right). But our favorite Seymour Duncan Antiquity pickups are now installed for a great upper-mid PAF tone. The trem is original to the guitar and lots of cool 355 details like bound f-holes, 7-layer binding, ebony fingerboard, and big block inlays. Slim necks were also a feature of the top-of-the-line guitars although this one is not as skinny as, say, a '68-era Gibson. With original case. $3500
