Early V-neck, 3 tone bars, sounds remarkable. Lots of cracks, all of them repaired, some by us, the rest over the last 74 years. Healthy now and ready to play. Of note: Crack through strap button (tail block is fine), flame maple patch 2" by 1/2" done long ago (thank you Northern Minnesota violin repair guy), also long crack just south of patch repaired long ago is stable. 2 back cracks (the wiggly one is just a scratch, not a crack), small crack repair at headstock. Top: Crack at arm rest done long ago, 2 other top cracks near tailpiece are fixed and solid. We glued down a few braces, too, and it had been refretted when we got it.
There - that's the bad part. Otherwise, we have a script logo prewar Gibson flattop that is a very sought-after model. Why? Tapered headstock, built under tension (slightly arched), and delivers killer loud and authoritative tone. Flame pickguard, skinny bridge, big neck (not painful, just big). With newer hard case, under $10k. We believe that they are set to climb in value. Trades considered. SOLD. $Call For Price On Hold
